There were so many exciting & frightening moments. There was heartbreak of unfathomable depths that was overcome with a gentle love. I am happy this couple came together. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
Love this book! Hildie McQueen keeps getting better & better. Her style of writing can't be beat! She always leaves the readers satisfied with a fantastic book, but at the same time, we hate to say goodbye to the characters! You will fall in love with them! ) Two thumbs up!
Josiah and Laura! Two characters connected to the Cole Family. Laura's story illustrates the plight of many women during this time. Josiah throughout this series has had a presence! Especially touching is to hear how the Cole Family is progressing-it's like hearing from friends
This book truly inspires women to overcome the worst that life can offer. There is always hope when a woman came pull herself up out of abuse or neglect and move on with life. It was not a constant reading of depression and death. It moved along the road of self resurrection and hope is available given enough time to root. Great book. Liz
This story about Josiah and Laura was just okay for me. The story started out okay and I really thought it was going to be a great detailed story, but somehow, especially at the ending, I thought, what the heck happened. It ended without telling readers if he went back east to live or stayed there. I do not like endings like this.
Hildie McQueen has once again wrote an amazing story of not just a simple romance but one filled with the hardships that can become of some women's life of living with a horribly abusive man but managing to escape and although through the horrible hardships of loosing her only child manages to overcome and at long last following in love with a truly carrying considerate man and finally starting her life all over in the way she deserves. This author is so talented. She never stops amazing me with range of emotions I go through when reading her books.
I finished book three yesterday in Hildie McQuee's series Shades of blue.I have to say that this book has been the most fascinating read I have read in a while. This story is Josiah and Laura's story it was gripping I couldn't put it down. The story of Laura's family being killed and the abuse she withstands is so riviting. Even though her abusive man has killed her son she struggles with such strength to overcome this grief. Josiah grieving for a lost love. This is a must read.
